FAQS?

What time is worship?

During the school year (September to May) we offer two Sunday worship celebrations with different styles: a service with more contemporary music at 8:30 and a more classic service at 11:00.

Where is the church located?
Community of Grace Presbyterian conveniently located on the corner of Highland & Newcastle Drives in Sandy, Utah. Our address is 2015 E. Newcastle Drive, Sandy, UT 84093. Click here for a map

What kind of worship experiences do you offer?
We offer two different services of worship every Sunday. Our contemporary service at 8:30am is designed to give you the chance to praise God with contemporary songs lead by our Spirit of Joy Band. Every Sunday all present, even the smallest children, gather around the table to break bread and share the cup of communion. Words for songs are projected and prayers for worship are printed in our easy to follow program. Our classic Sunday 11:00 am service is for those who prefer a more traditional worship experience. Our pastor brings the same message at both worship celebrations. We invite you to dress comfortably whichever service you prefer to attend.

What can I expect when I first visit?
You will find ample parking. You’ll be greeted as you enter by greeters and ushers. They are there to welcome you and to answer any questions you may have. You won’t be asked for money. You are our guest.

We are located on a beautiful east-bench in Sandy almost at the base of the Wasatch Mountains. When you stand in our parking lot and look up to the mountains, it can be breath-taking. Inside, you’ll find easy-to-follow signs conveniently located throughout so you won’t have to ask people things like, "Where’s the restroom?"

What about children?
If you have an infant to 3-year-old, you’ll be pleased to know we have a one of the cleanest, safest nurseries you’ll find anywhere in Salt Lake County. In the event a parent is needed in the nursery, you will have a pager. We have an active children's program designed to help your children feel loved and confident because they are a special creation of God and they’re loved by Him. Our children’s program includes both a Sunday Morning Sunday School program and Worship program. We also offer Recreation & Service Small Groups for Kids, Vacation Bible School, and more. What's the difference between a Presbyterian church and a "non-denominational" church?
An important question. First of all, recognize that some churches that are thought to be non-denominational are, in fact, part of a larger denomination. That's not a bad thing. In fact it is both valuable and biblical for people, congregations and leaders to be accountable to others. As a result, we are a connectional church. While we are formally a part of the Presbyterian Church (USA), our chief allegiance is to the Lord Jesus Christ. We are inter-denominational insofar as our members come from all kinds of religious backgrounds.

What are the basic beliefs held by Community of Grace Presbyterian?
We believe in one God Who is revealed to us in scripture in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe that the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments, are the unique and authoritative witness to Jesus Christ and God's Word to us. A very clear and simple introduction to our basic beliefs can be found in our Brief Statement of Faith.

Do women hold leadership roles at Community of Grace Presbyterian?
Yes…and we couldn’t imagine it any other way. Based on what we believe God's Word teaches in Galatians 3.28 ("There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus") we believe that the Holy Spirit calls both women and men to all ministries of the church.

What is the mission and vision of Community of Grace Presbyterian?
Our mission is to build confident followers of Jesus Christ who love God, neighbor, and self. Our vision is to be a growing community where faith is exciting. Our mission and vision are not just pieces of paper, they are real. We call our mission and vision our Core Spiritual Identity and you can click on CSI for the full statement.
