Welcome to the Weekly Bulletin
Parents of young children—Coloring pages, crayons, clipboards and now books are available to engage your young children during the Worship service. The materials are located to the right of the Sanctuary doors in the Narthex. Please note the children will return to their seats following the Children’s Message. All Church Pool Party Rescheduled; now partnered with PW Ice Cream Social – Bring your family to the Alta Canyon Rec Center TODAY and cool off in the pool/water features. Remember to invite VBS friends to this rescheduled event. Bring a picnic dinner for your family and wrap it up with an AWESOME ice cream sundae bar hosted by PW (6-7pm). There is no cost for this event. 2010/2011 Fall Kickoff - Children & The Message Sunday school programs will begin Sunday September 12th (9:45-10:45am) Children and their parents will gather in the sanctuary at 9:45am for a welcome and introduction of teachers before heading to their classrooms. This year’s theme focuses on our vision statement at Community of Grace where we are called to be a community Growing in love, compassion and justice. Deacon of the Month for August. Fall Worship Schedule will begin Sunday September 12th with two services (8:30am & 11AM). We will begin offering coffee between services, which includes Starbucks coffee the first Sunday of each month. Photo Directory Information. The sign up process for directory portrait sittings has begun. Portrait sittings are held at the church. The dates for sittings are Tuesday, September 7th and Wednesday, September 8th from 1:30pm to 8:30pm. Times are filling up quickly. To schedule your portrait sitting online, visit our website at www.cogpc.org and click on: Lifetouch Scheduling for Member Pictures. This link takes you to Lifetouch’s portrait session sign up page. Please follow the directions for reserving your portrait sitting time. If you are unable to sign up online, please contact Sandy Growe at (801) 943-4043 for scheduling or sign up at the Directory Information Table this Sunday between services. Share your hobby! Super Craft Saturdays are back at COG! Do you have a special craft that you could share with others? We will have 4 Super Crafts this year! All ideas are welcome. Please contact Carron Kopren at 801-942-0967 or carronk@comcast.net. Farmer's Market. It is that time again for the annual PW Farmer's Market to raise funds for PW mission giving. The Farmer's Market will run every Sunday through October 3rd between the first and second church services and immediately following the second service in the Narthex. We will take donations of any of your excess produce from your gardens, fruit from your trees, as well as any baked goods that you would like to donate. If you donate baked goods please label them as to what they are. Please take this opportunity to share your bounty with others and get some garden fresh produce for your family. Ice Cream Social is now partnered with the All-Church rescheduled Pool Party. Bring your family to the Alta Canyon Rec Center and cool off in the pool/water features. Food Co-op thank you goes out to all those who make our distribution hub work to meet the needs of people in our neighborhood and beyond. Crossroads food pantry can take any nonperishable foods. They include Dried Beans, Dried Pasta, Rice, Peanut Butter, Canned Meat, Canned Vegetables, Canned Fruits, Canned Soup, Canned Beans, Macaroni and Cheese, Precooked Meals, Juices, Powdered Milk, Baby Formula, Diapers, Personal Hygiene Supplies. Salvation Army sandwich making & serving - Sunday, September 12th we will be making 450 sandwiches in the gym following the 2nd service. This is a wonderful hands on service opportunity for families; all ages are welcome to help make sandwiches.
